About the Founder Alina Greenberg, PharmD

Being born into an Eastern European culture, her passion for the field of medicine was ingrained since childhood. As she grew older, she knew that she was destined to pursue her passion in the form of patient care. In her community, pharmacists were prevalent, and she admired their knowledge, seeing a reflection of herself in each one.

At the age of 18, she embarked on a 6-year Pharmacy Doctorate journey at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts. During Pharmacy school, she read “Why Zebra’s Don’t Get Ulcers,” emphasizing the importance of minimizing stressors and prioritizing mental health. Incorporating techniques like breathing and exercise helps build strength and patience.

  • While she valued the retail setting, she aspired to work in a closed-door environment, focusing on clinical opportunities such as medication therapy management and offering mental health services. Establishing a pharmacy from scratch presented challenges, but it was one of the most rewarding decisions of her life.

To those aspiring to start their own business, she advises them to take action and not overthink. Embracing risks, even with unknown obstacles ahead, is key to achieving aspirations. After two decades in the pharmacy business, she takes pride in being a healthcare professional, supporting her clients in leading safer and healthier lives.

Q&A from Director

Where and how long did you go to pharmacy school ?

I graduated Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences after completing an accelerated 6 year Doctor-of-Pharmacy program.

How did you know you wanted to open your own pharmacy?

I dreamed of having a more flexible schedule which was the driving force for me opening up my own pharmacy. I have put in many 16 hour days starting up my business and do not regret one bit of it.

How did you get into Long Term Care Pharmacy?

I was interested to explore what other opportunities are available outside of the retail bubble. Working for a corporate retail setting was a very educational experience and I always knew I wanted to explore something more easy paced. I had a wonderful opportunity shadowing a pharmacist in a long term care setting and knew right from the get-go that this was my calling.

How are you able to juggle working, precepting students from other colleges, and having a family?

Scheduling every single task and event into a virtual calendar can be frustrating, however that is how I am able to juggle and make time for everything from working, precepting college students, exercising, and spending time with my family and children.
